Entone Amulet SD Set Top Box

Amulet Remote

The Entone Amulet Set Top Box provides Standard Definition (SD) television reception capability for one TV. It will work with HD televisions although the image will be SD quality. The Amulet does not record programming.

The Set Top Box is connected to the fiber optic ONT box with an ethernet cable plugged into the port in the back of the box. Connection from the box to the TV can be accomplished several ways:

The RCA cables are color-coded so that the connections from the Set Top Box to the TV will match. The five cable connection scheme can be used on a HD TV, but the picture quality will remain at SD levels.

The Entone Amulet Set Top Box is operated with the Entone URC plus remote control, pictured above. The back of the remote is a silver color. This is an infra-red operated remote and will operate only one SD television. Detailed directions for use are found in the user guide which is included with each remote control. The link below to the Amulet Quick Reference Guide also has detailed programming information.

The first step is to select which component is to be programmed. STB enables Set Top Box mode functions, TV selects a SD television, and AUX could be a VCR, Tuner, or DVD player. Once a device is selected, the remote must be programmed with a four digit program code for that particular brand of device. A list of devices and their codes is included in the user guide for the remote. Once the code for the device selected is entered, the remote buttons operate in a manner common to all such devices.

Using Your Remote

When using your remote, whether it be a Scientific Atlanta or Entone Amulet Remote the procedure for operation is the same.

If a SKSRT installer, or contracted installer programs your new remote to operate both your new STB (Set Top Box) and TV at the same time, the Procedure is as follows:

When Turning Your TV On

Step 1. Press the TV button first, and then press the power button. This will turn your TV on (Please understand that this action will turn your Television on, but will not change the channels in the STB (Set Top Box/Cable Box); to do this you must procede to Step 2.)
Step 2. To change the channels in the STB after turning on your TV, press the STB button. This will allow you to change channels within the STB and not the channels in your TV. (This button is located below the setup button on the Entone remote, and the first button on the top left on the Cisco/Scientific Atlanta remote.)

When Turning Your TV Off

Step 1. Press the TV button first, and then press the power button.

What To Do If The STB (Set Top Box) Is Off

If your STB is in standby mode, it will need to be turned on in order to change channels in your STB.

Step 1. First press the STB button, and then press the power button. This will turn your STB on.
Step 2. To turn off your STB first press the STB button, and then press the power button.

How To Tell If Your STB Is Or Is Not In Standby Mode
